August It is understood that Canada-based SNC Lavalin is currently carrying out the front-end engineering and design (FEED) works on this scheme. The field contains reserves estimated at 6.6 billion barrels of oil with a planned capacity to produce about 440,000 barrels day (b/d) as well as 12 billion cubic feet of gas day (cf/d). - 10th
January Client has announced an agreement with an American company to invest in this project. The company is understood to be Houston-based Orion Gas Processors. A memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed between the company and Basrah Gas Company (BGC) in the coming days. - 09th
JanuaryA subsidiary of PetroChina has signed an agreement with client to develop an onshore gas field with an initial output capacity of 150 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d). Petrochina Halfaya was awarded the contract on BOOT (build-own-operate-transfer) basis for the development. The project could be expanded later to produce an additional quantity of 150 mcf/d to be used in fuelling power stations in Southern Iraq. The project would be completed within 36 months and would include construction of gas gathering facilities, storage tanks and pipeline networks to supply gas to power stations.
